March 24 Community Forklift’s Annual Spring Garden Party/Sale

Community Forklift’s Annual Spring Garden Party/Sale  March 24, 2018 from 9am-3pm.

Setup  for Chal members/artists: March 23, 2018 from 5-7 pm. Bring up to six items and you will hang those on the walls. Bring hammers please!  We will have bins for works in clear bags, and tables for hand-made or printed pieces, i.e. coasters, cutting boards, single and boxed cards and matted prints, etc. Each participant must volunteer to set up, man the sales tables, and take down.  The sales table will need two people for each of three two hour shifts, 9-11, 11-1, or 1-3

There is no charge to participate in this event and no commission is taken.  All money collected will be given to the artists.  Last year CHAL participants gave a donation to CFL to support the work they do for the community and those in need. We ask that each artist bring an envelope with your name and about $20 in small bills and change.  This will be returned to you at the end of the event.

Pop Up Exhibition Opportunity for CHAL Artists~ Theme: La Buena Vida (The Good Life)

Where: Dumbarton Concert Gallery, 3133 Dumbarton Street NW Washington DC 20007

When: Jan. 27-Feb. 27, 2018    Juror: Lynn Creamer/Carnegie Hall, WV Gallery Director

The following members have been juried into this exciting exhibit: Kenneth Bachman, Kim Bursic, Susie Campbell, Sally Canzoneri, Karen Cohen, Paula Cleggett, Marie-B De Amicis, Bob Fuller, Kay Fuller, Tara Hamilton, Mike McSorely, Linda Norton, E Ann Pickett, Carolyn Rondthaler, Brian Truesdale, and Karen Zens. Congratulations!

Email notifications will be sent to those selected with all the requirements for installation and sales details/commission, etc.  Please follow all the instructions for bringing/installing your work. Dumbarton Concert Gallery has invited CHAL artists to display a collection of artwork during the week of January 27- February 2nd 2018. This is a weeklong exhibit where the evening of the concert acts as the reception for the artists and artwork. The Gallery shows original framed artwork from local and regional artists and has hosted pop-up art exhibits of local and regional artists for over  20 years. The Concerts series attracts national and international musical performers from classical to jazz and vocal. The Gallery welcomes the concert goers to concessions and a gathering place to view the artwork.

January 27, 2018 at 8pm:  “La Buena Vida” with guitarists Adam del Monte and Mak Gric, playing Latin American and Spanish music, tangoes, flamenco and new classical arrangements.

ART for Veterans at the Center for Community Living in DC

January 20, 2018: Display your art at the VA Community Living Center. Response needed by January 1st.  Five CHAL artists can display 5 – 7 works beginning January 27 until April 14. Please contact the Steering Committee at chalartists@gmail.com.
Delivery: January 27th from noon until 2:00 pm.
Art will remain on exhibit and for sale until April 14th, 2018

~Plexiglass glazing acceptable/glass is NOT accepted.~No nudes paintings or 3-D works that require pedestals are allowed.~Provide contact information and an inventory sheet so wall labels may be made.~Works on canvas or board without glazing are OK.

The Community Living Center is a part of the DC VA Medical Center.

Eno Wine Bar in Georgetown will feature the artwork of Brian Truesdale Jan/Feb 2018. Jane Mann for March/April, Kasse Andrews Weller for May/June, and Michael Ford for July/August.
