November 17 Reception for Artists’ Choice group exhibit

25 Capitol Hill Art League members brought in artwork for group exhibit called Artists’ Choice at Capitol Hill Arts Workshop on exhibit  till December 5. Members choose their own favorite creation to put on the gallery walls.  Voting for “people’s choice” during the reception event gave Kim Bursic’s painting, “Book Choi” the most votes. Kim wons a $25 gift certificate from Plaza Arts Materials in DC.

NOVEMBER 2018  Artists’ Choice – unjuried Members-only all-media exhibit at CHAW

YOU select your best piece to show for this members art show. What a beautiful show we will create! Please see image with correct wiring for hanging your artwork. We use the Walker system at CHAW. Weight limit 30 lbs/size can be “open” as space permitsReceiving: November 10 & 13, 9:30-11:30am (CHAW closed 11/12 Veterans Day).  Closes: December 5

~ A non-refundable entry fee $5.00 is due at receiving. Kat Jamieson, our juror gave her results today for Joie de Vivre art exhibit for CHAL members. The following artists have been selected for this exhibit, congrats!

The Opening Reception with Juror’s Remarks and awards will be held on Saturday, October 6 from 5pm-7pm, open to the public. Our juror will speak around 5:30-6pm and give awards.

~We request that CHAL members bring a snack/treat/finger food to our reception party. Please remember that CHAW is a nut-free building due to possible allergies to nuts of any kind. Beverages are supplied.

Sept. 22 Receiving for Joie de Vivre Annual Members (only) juried exhibit

The Capitol Hill Art League presents our annual, juried (for members only), all media exhibition called Joie de Vivre.

On September 22 and 24 please bring your artwork for jurying to Capitol Hill Arts Workshop BEFORE the annual members and new members meeting. We have an excellent juror and she will have the tough task of narrowing down all the entries to what she feels illustrates: Joie de Vivre! Her judging will be early October and you will be notified of the results via email from the steering committee email: chalartists@gmail.com

Juror: Kat Jamieson.    Theme: Joie de Vivre, (Joy of Living), is a French phrase used to express a cheerful enjoyment of life; an exultation of spirit.
