CHAL members have submitted artwork for the ROAD TRIP exhibit at CHAW gallery. Please stop in and see our artwork and be sure to come to our party/reception on Saturday Sept. 14 from 5-7pm.

These artists also renewed their annual membership with CHAL. Thank you artists for your great artwork and involvement with CHAL!

The People’s Choice vote goes to Erika Rubel for her 3-d collage/artwork called Where to Now?

GO Dark members’ exhibit October 5-26, 2019

Go Dark means different things. Turn out the light and the room goes dark. Artists often use dark values contrasting with light values to illustrate this concept. The Capitol Hill Art League invites your artistic expression of going dark. This exhibit is open to CHAL members for 2-d and 3-d work and all media. Please renew your membership if you haven’t already done so.Juror: Phil Davis, BFA-School of the Art Institute of Chicago and MFA- Southern Illinois University Carbondale.

Phil Davis is an arts manager dedicated to connecting people through their creativity. With nearly 25 years of working in the field, he has focused on building community through the arts.  In his current role, he supervises the Division’s partnerships with arts organizations: Arts on a Roll, Shakespeare in the Parks, two teen theater ensembles, the Fairwood Music Festival, and Celebrate Africa.

Dates to remember: Receiving  days bring finished artwork ready to hang to CHAW on Saturday  September 28, or Monday  September 30, from 9:30 to 11:30 am.

NOTE: Work submitted does NOT have to be for sale. Please list  NFS  if you don’t wish to sell your artwork but must have been completed in the last three years.

September POP up exhibit Earth Wind and Fire for CHAL members

Capitol Hill Art League Members Pop – Up Art Exhibit
Theme:“EARTH-WIND-FIRE”

Where: Frame of Mine Gallery 545 Eight Street SE, DC
Exhibit Runs: September 1-30

For this month of September, it is fitting for its theme to be “EARTH-WIND-FIRE”. Use your imagination to incorporate the theme into your artwork.

CHAL members are invited to drop off one or two paintings/photographs. There is no space for three dimension pieces. Space available will determine how many pieces will be hung. Each piece must be labeled with artist name, name of artwork, medium, price and contact information. Please have your artwork framed and ready to hang – i.e. wire stretched across the back with D-rings. No sawtooth hangers or clips can be used with the hanging system at Frame of Mine. Fee payable to CHAL of $5.00 check/cash

For the reception on September 6th please invite your fans – family and friends. Please bring wine and/or “finger food” snack ready to serve.

JUNE WINNERS CIRCLE EXHIBIT.  CHAL Season’s Award Winners from Sept. 2018 – Aug. 31, 2019 will be showing their artwork in this group, unjuried show. Exhibit runs: June 22-August 17.
