Cabbage Art & Scarf Invitational: Nancy Freeman Solo Exhibit

Throughout the month of July, the CHAL Wall in the CHAW gallery presents a multimedia display by Capitol Hill artist Nancy Freeman, based on a collaborative art project she’s launching on Kickstarter.com. Viewers are asked to vote for their favorites among a series of Freeman’s photos of the amazing colors and patterns she’s observed in decorative cabbages. She’ll transform the winners into gallery-quality artworks, then ask participants to vote again for which of these she should turn into limited-edition scarves.
The opening reception is Saturday July 19th, 5-7pm in the CHAW Gallery. Visitors can cast their votes at the reception.

Sky and Seascapes: CHAL Member Tara Hamilton Solo Show

“Sky and Seascapes” is the title of Tara’s solo show, which had its opening reception at CHAW the evening of June 11.  The opening was well-attended and introduced her guests to CHAW and the Art League for the first time.  Says Tara, “This solo show was a wonderful opportunity.  I know that the other artists in the Art League will see this as a great benefit to being a member and participating in our shows.”

Winners of the March and April CHAL shows were offered the CHAL Wall for solo shows in the months of June and July.  Next up, Nancy Freeman will have her solo show on the CHAL Wall.
