2021 Words Matter

Members have interpreted Words Matter. Words have the power and energy to excite, deflate, nourish, enrage and everything in between. This exhibit’s theme is an invitation to explore how words inform the artist’s work, deepen it, expand expression, and move a narrative realistically, abstractly, or both.

“Cultivating Joy”, invites artists to explore what “cultivating joy” personally evokes, and to create work informed from those inner or outer related images and symbols. Consider in your contemplation and process that “Cultivating” suggests intention and aspiration and “Joy” suggests something deeper than happiness. From big concepts to artistic expression

Members are invited to interpret “Reflections” with a wide lens. “Reflections”, literal and or abstracted suggests contemplative, evocative expressions that welcome the viewer’s curiosity,
and perhaps recognition. “Reflections” may reflect one’s internal musing of the “real”, or imaged and/or depictions of the multiple reflections actually visible.
