CHAL artist Tati Valle-Riestra presents Works on Paper, the seventh solo exhibit in a series of CHAL artists at ENO, the wine bar managed by the Four Seasons Hotel. “Tati” Maria del Carmen Valle-Riestra was born and grew up in Lima, Peru. Tati has been a dancer since a child, a visual artist for a decade and a scientist since the Eighties. In 2001 she began drawing and painting at the continuing education art programs of Arlington Community Center and Georgetown University, and continued with art classes for several years at The Art League School of Alexandria. She is a member of both the Art League of Alexandria and the Capitol Hill Art League. Her work has also been featured in other group exhibits at The Hill Center; Lost Creek Winery, VA; Children’s Hospital, DC; Artspace 109, VA; Kelly’s Fine Art Gallery; and The Corner Store on Capitol Hill. She has had two solo exhibits of her figurative work titled Bodies of ink and Hombres in 2012 and 2013-14 at Artspace 109, Alexandria, VA. She has been a member of the Washington dance company Dana Tai Soon Burgess since 2000, and she currently teaches dance at Episcopal High School, Alexandria, VA. Tati holds a B.Sc. in Marine Biology from the University of Guelph, Canada and a Licenciate degree in Biology from Universidad Peruana Cayetano Heredia (UPCH), Lima, Peru.
